Netball 2015

What a successful season for our teams!  Our last Saturday all our teams won!
Congratulations to our Year 6 team for winning the final of their competition.  A hard fought last game.  Keep at it girls, we look forward to seeing your success in the future.

Thanks Mr Schon for supporting us by coming out to Newlands to watch our games.

Johnsonville Royals 15 August 2015
Despite being 2 team members down, the Johnsonville Royals managed to stay strong against St Brigids Shooting Stars with the help of Rhea and Jesse from the Johnsonville Jaguars. The girls played really well, in particular Ronika (for her confidence at shooting) and Maramar who was strong as Goal Keeper. The team have really improved since the beginning of the season and played really well on what was a slightly damp and drizzling Saturday. Both Rhea and Jesse gave it their all, despite playing their own game immediately before. Both demonstrated superb passing and intercepting skills and the team were astounded at just how high Jesse could jump from a standing start! The final score was 8-6 with a win for the Royals. Player of the day was shared between Rhea and Jesse, both who had energy to spare.

Johnsonville Jaguars
Game 4 -23rd May.. Jaguars 17-Ngaio Tactix 5
Player of the Day - Kamirah.  Excellent shooting today!

Johnsonville Royals
The team members are Sierra, Olivia, Marama, Ronika, Ruby, Holly, Ella and Angel.

This team has played really well so far, winning 2 and losing only 1 match.

Match 1 was against Cashmere which resulted in a 16-0 win to Johnsonville Royals.  The team was really nervous on this first outing together but listened well to each other and played really well.

Match 2 was against Ngaio which again Johnsonville Royals won through hard work and determination. Player of the day for this match was Sierra who worked really well and never stopped moving. She made us all tired just by watching her!

Match 3 was against really tough opponents – St Benedicts! The JVille Royals kept going though and finished with a very respectable score draw of 7 to St Ben’s 11. The player of the day was shared between Ella (who, even when the going got tough did not give up) and Ronika who tried out the new position of Goal Defence and played really well and managed to cover her forever moving GA opponent.

This season we have five teams representing our school.  The girls, coaches and managers have been working hard preparing for the start of the season.
